After making toys out of the junk of the streets as part of Old World Mettle, I struck up conversation with another two of the willing few accommodating the niche interests of their customers, providing high-quality craftsmanship in markets that often go dismissed due to shame or judgment from others.

After making toys out of the junk of the streets as part of Old World Mettle, I struck up conversation with another two of the willing few accommodating the niche interests of their customers, providing high-quality craftsmanship in markets that often go dismissed due to shame or judgment from others.

 

Teaming up with Ally Burgess and Kit Andrews, we put together a collection of ceramic dildos, bespoke steel bondage gear and toys that just aren’t for kids.

B_UM

‘B_um’ (the long-forgotten sibling of Brum) was made to represent the importance of play in adult life.

A little reminder that although it is often denied, the joy that can be found in it is never lost with age.

Burgess led conversations on the importance of consent and communication, whilst strapping audience members to bondage equipment…

The exhibition was held in the Vestibules of City Hall, Bristol, next to the mayor and top officials of the city. My extension of an invitation to ‘cut the ribbon’ to the mayor was ignored, but the event in general went down well with everyone else.
